Referencia de notas al pie

Postby ladylein on Thu Aug 03, 2017 6:11 pm

Gracias

I am afraid that WORD is not good at stripping out unwanted styling code, even when using "web page filtered" mode.

In the end you may have just two options:
Do the conversion manually.
Save the original document as a PDF and get your users to download that file.

Thanks, Greg. By "manually", do you mean copy the whole stuff? I'm working with texts 400 pages long... I have been able to change the format through Word, but the conversion to html is full of strange indications. Do I do anything wrong? I copy from Word and as long as I don't look at the source the text appears right. Once I have checked the source, the same text in "normal" appear with funny tags, exclamation marks. Uff!
Anyway, thanks again.

I doubt that you did anything wrong. From what I remember of WORD (I haven't used it in almost 20 years) it creates a lot of code designed to help switching between .doc and .html format but that just creates problems once you move out of the world of Microsoft.

As you have so much to edit it may be best to find a good text editor that includes search and replace facilities that include "regular expressions".

Thanks once more, Greg. Do you have any suggestion about which editor could be useful??

I run Linux these days but when I was a Windows user I would tend to turn to Notepad Plus Plus for such a task.

If I have to work from a Word document, I copy and paste the text into a plain text editor. Then I copy and paste it into the html editor. This throws away all the word formatting code and lets you work with your own ideas on how the text should be formatted by your own css styles.
