main program not showing properly

Postby farang on Thu Jul 20, 2017 2:48 am

Hi all

I have built a web site which I have uploaded to server. In my directory it works and shows up fine. However when viewed on the website it doesn't shows an incomplete page with colour and paypal buttons missing. This is my first website with paypal. Could the problem be paypal?

The website is:

The link to your css file is bad on your main page. If you have an assigned background color in the css the browser can't see it with the bad link.

As far as the PP button I did not see anything specific.

It looks like the material gregtutor offers would be of value to you: http://www.gregtutor.co.uk/

One observation about the site that I'd make as a first time visitor is that by placing a huge number of large images on a single page it take ages to download, flickering a lot as each image arrives.

I'd suggest that you consider a page of smaller thumbnails, or even a number of thumbnail pages classified in some way (perhaps by subject theme, size of work or predominant colour) from which the potential buyer can then navigate to works of interest.

Extremely long pages that take a lot of scrolling through makes it difficult to switch between and return to the few images that might be on a buyers short list.

Apparently the lost buttons are the key graphics lost between my computer and website. Not sure why. Taking your advice on board will subdivide the artwork according to subject.

Thanks all for your input
