Help with Kompozer and style.css file

Postby wmdino on Fri Feb 07, 2014 2:34 am

Hello all,

I own a small editing and proofreading business and one of our clients sent us an HTML file to edit along with a style.css file. We are doing ok with it using Taco for the Mac but we also downloaded Kompozer for our PC's. In Taco, the style.css file only has to be in the same directory as the <name>.html file and everything works fine.

However, I can't figure out how to tell Kompozer to import my client's style.css file. Can anyone help? Please keep it simple for me if possible. I've read all the help I can find but none of it makes sense for what I need to do.

thanks,
- Bill

Open the page in KompoZer.
Click on the artist's palette in the tool bar to open the css editor.
At the upper left click on the dropdown arrow next to the artist's palette and select 'linked stylesheet'.
On the dialog box that opens click the select stylesheet button and navigate to the styles.css file.
If the 'internal stylesheet' is still in the left pane of the css editor select and delete it.
You should be good to go.

There are a couple of helpful resources that you should know about:
Charles Cooke's KompoZer Users Guide: http://www.charlescooke.me.uk/web/kz-ug-home.htm
Gregtutor's tutorial content at: http://www.gregtutor.plus.com/webdesign/index.html
